SkyJuice Foundation is proud to have been awarded the 2025 Zayed Sustainability Prize in the Water Category. This global recognition has strengthened our capacity to accelerate safe water access initiatives, such as Equal Access Bhutan.
In 2023, 136 public schools across Bhutan received SkyHydrant installations through the Safe Water Bhutan program, providing reliable access to clean drinking water. This impactful program was initiated by Disaster Aid Australia and delivered in close collaboration with the SkyJuice Foundation, the Rotary Club of Thimphu, and the Bhutan Ministry of Education. Our world-leading passive membrane technology delivers measurable impact, with early results showing marked improvements in student health and school attendance.
The next stage of our vision is clear: achieve 100% safe water coverage in every school across Bhutan. It is planned to extend the program to all schools, clinics and monasteries throughout Bhutan over a 24-month period. This work will be undertaken in close collaboration with our existing, proven partners. This will include small schools of less than 50 students and also the very remote regions of Bhutan. The deployment of safe water solutions will be extended beyond SkyHydrants to include Squirts and Platypus solutions. This hybrid approach will provide a more efficient impact across the wider section of the population. For more information on these innovative solutions, please visit www.skyjuice.org.au.
If it’s possible in Bhutan, why not Every Child, Everywhere?
